Looking beyond the obvious answer.
Not every question has an obvious answer.
Sometimes the evidence is scattered. Sometimes there's too much information. Sometimes you have data but don't quite know what it's telling you. And sometimes you simply need the time and thinking to work something through properly.
MCG works on complex questions that need research, evidence, analysis and clear thinking to move forward. MCG takes on selected projects spanning research, data and analytics, evaluation, strategy, technology and complex problem-solving.
That might mean investigating a question, analysing data, reviewing evidence, evaluating something, exploring different approaches, building a dataset or analytical approach, developing a report, shaping an argument, or bringing a complicated body of information together into something clear and useful.

About
I'm Lien McGowan, the person behind MCG.
My work spans research, health, government, policy, data and technology. Across that work, I'm most interested in the questions that aren't easily answered, the ones that need investigation, evidence and careful thought.
I'm particularly drawn to work where the answer isn't immediately obvious, something to investigate, untangle, test or explain. I like difficult problems, good evidence and clear thinking.
MCG works as a small core with a trusted network of experienced specialists across health, government, financial services, technology and other sectors.
Our collaborators are carefully chosen for their expertise, experience and track record, and brought into projects where their skills are a good fit for the work.
